Visit of Kelly Degnan, Ambassador of the United States of America

Peace Corps Volunteers can leave a lasting positive impact in the places they serve. The Institute for Change and Innovation (ICI), an NGO co-founded by current director Tamar Ghlonti and the head of the board, Zviad Eradze, and a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Ozurgeti, is a vivid example of such impact. Since its founding, this organization has served approximately 12,000 people in the region, implementing programs that established an English library, initiated English language learning programs, created a computer resource lab for youth, and implemented numerous community service projects. Currently, ICI continues partnership with the Peace Corps by collaborating with a Peace Corps Virtual Service Participant. During her official trip to Guria, Ambassador Degnan stopped by the organization to hear about their ongoing and future projects.
